Lake Naivasha is an ancient freshwater lake in the Great Rift Valley and is set at its highest point, 1,890 m (6,200 ft) above sea level. The outlet for this lake, Njorwa Gorge, forms the entrance to Hell's Gate National Park which has spectacular examples of rock formations and an abundance of flora and fauna, including some extremely rare breeding pairs of Lammergeyers, also known as bearded vultures.
Lake Naivasha is home to a wide variety of wildlife including a healthy population of hippos, a variety of freshwater fish like black bass, tilapia and crayfish, and many fish-eating birds like fish eagles, pelicans, kingfishers, and cormorants.
Drive through the scenic Athi Plains and into the bush country of Amboseli National Park, home to the legendary Maasai tribesmen and famous for huge herds of elephants.
Amboseli National Park, the magical land of Kenya, lies in the north-west direction of Mount Kilimanjaro on the border of Kenya and Tanzania. This park stretches over an area of 392 square kilometers, dominated by acacia woodland, rocky thorny bush, swamps, marshland, and a Pleistocene lake.
Amboseli National Park is home to a large concentration of wildlife, estimated to be 80 different species, including African elephant, African buffalo, impalas, lion, zebra, and wildebeest, among other African animals. The park is especially famous for its large population of elephants.
Amboseli Park is also home to a number of birds, estimated to be 400 species, which include African swamp hen, Common redshank, Dickinson’s kestrel, Eurasian thick-knee, Greater flamingo, Hartlaub’s bustard, Lesser flamingo, Long-toed lapwing, Pangani long claw, Rufous chatterer, Rufous-bellied heron, Spike-heeled lark, Steel-blue whydah, Taveta golden weaver, Von der Decken’s hornbill, Yellow-necked spurfowl, and many more.

Tsavo National Park is one of the biggest parks in Africa, covering 25,000 km², accommodating most wildlife species and birds. It is home to the Jumbos, the Big Cats, the Big Five, and many bird species and varieties. It’s also famous for the Man-Eaters lions during the independence era.

From the sight of fifty million gallons of crystal-clear water gushing out from under parched lava rock at the Mzima Springs to the Shetani lava flows, Tsavo West is a beautiful, rugged wilderness.
