Explore Tanzania: From Kilimanjaro to Ngorongoro

Lying just south of the equator in the Eastern Part of Africa is Tanzania, home to some of the most famous landmarks in the world like Mount Kilimanjaro,  Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro crater and the great Rift Valley. The county’s topography is diverse, ranging from volcanic peaks draped in tropivcal forest to dusty savannah plains where wildlife thrives. It is the most biodiverse country on the African continent with almost a third of her total land area made up of protected national parks, reserves and conservancies.

Not only does Tanzania boost of one of the broadest ranges of wildlife on the continent, many of the parks still exist without any boundary fences, rare in the modern world and delivering a much more authentic safari experience that is truly wild. It is perhaps for this reason that Tanzania has the highest concentration of wild animals per square kilometre in the world.  Between the Serengeti, Ngorongoro crater (which is the largest intact caldera in the world and one of the 7 UNESCO world heritage sites), Tarangire National park and the 14 other National parks, Tanzania swarms with wildlife. In Tanzania, there are roughly 4 million wild animals, accounting for 20% of Africas mammal population. Its also home to the largest lion population on the planet, with conservative estimates putting the numbers at over 16,000 lions!
