Lower Zambezi National Park

Overview

Lower Zambezi National Park, a premier wildlife viewing area, offering visitors the ultimate African safari destination in an unspoilt wilderness, is located in southern Zambia on the border with Zimbabwe. In the south, the Zambezi River is known for abundant and free roaming wildlife, including buffalo, fish eagle, elephant herds, hippos and crocodile. The park is still relatively undeveloped, its beauty lying in its wilderness state. The diversity of animals is not as wide as the other big parks, but the opportunities to get close to game are spectacular. The park lies opposite the famous Mana Pools reserve in Zimbabwe making the whole area on both sides of the Zambezi River a massive wildlife sanctuary. Most of the wildlife and birds are concentrated around the lower Zambezi Valley and the river
