The Okavango Delta is a unique pulsing wetland, christened the last Garden of Eden which owes its existence to the Okavango River which flows from the Angolan Highlands, across Namibia’s Caprivi Strip and into the harsh Kalahari Desert creating a vast ecosystem. All the water reaching the delta is ultimately evaporated and transpired, and does not flow into any sea or Ocean. The Okavango Delta is one of Africa’s most famous exclusive safari destinations. The Okavango Delta supports large concentrations of birds and animals and is perhaps one of the best places to view game in Africa. Common wildlife species found in the Delta include; African bush elephant, lion, wildebeest, hartebeest, sitatunga, springbok, eland, kudu, duiker, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, black rhino, white rhino, cheetah, hyena among many others. The Delta offers true wilderness experience, excellent wildlife viewing and stunning scenery. Walking Safaris and dugout Canoe trips are a great addition to the usual game drives. Most of the lodges in the delta are reached by charter plane and offer a very exclusive, high-end service.
