Manyeleti Game Reserve

Overview

Manyeleti means ‘’Place of stars’’ in the local language, and true to its name, it is a unique safari destination off the beaten path. Bordering the Kruger National Park, Manyeleti is a prime ‘’Big 5’’ territory offering exceptional good possibilities for viewing the elusive leopard. Other Big 5 animals (lion, rhino, buffalo and elephant) are also often spotted on a very regular basis. In addition, the reserve is home to over 300 recorded bird species making it a great safari destination for wildlife enthusiasts, photographers and bird watchers. Situated away from the mainstream tourist areas where guest can experience tranquility of a South African safari in absolute seclusion. The reserve is ideal for families of all ages.

Manyeleti being a private game reserve is only accessible to visitors staying in the lodges within it. It does not cater for day visitors nor does it allow camping and self-catering. Accommodation is provided in luxurious thatched chalets and tented safari camps

Best time to visit

The winter period (May to September) is cool and dry, with sunny days and cold nights and therefore the best time to visit. Wildlife viewing is the best during this time
