After breakfast you will be picked up by your driver-guide and make your way to Samburu National Reserve, which lies 325km north of Nairobi in the hot, arid periphery of the vast northern region of Kenya. The reserve is within the lands of the colorful Samburu people (who are close relatives of the Maasai) and harbors a number of wildlife species found only north of the equator (including the Grevy's zebra, the reticulated giraffe, and the Beisa Oryx). Samburu offers unique vistas of rounded and rugged hills and undulating plains. The mix of wood and grassland with riverine forest and swamp is home to a wide variety of animals and birdlife. You will arrive in time for lunch and then go on an afternoon game drive until sunset. Accommodation: Ashnil Samburu Camp
You will spend the full day in Samburu, where game viewing and visibility is excellent. Over 380 bird species have been recorded here. Wildlife that can be found include reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebras, elephants, oryx, Somali ostrich, hippos, crocodiles, gerenuk, buffalos, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas. The long-necked gerenuk is a graceful antelope that spends much of its time in a bi-pedal stance seeking succulence among the withered scrubs that dot this harsh terrain. Samburu is located under the intense equatorial sun most of the year. Relief comes from the Ewaso Ng’iro River, which arises some hundreds of kilometers to the west on the foothills of the Aberdares and then vanishes beyond Samburu into the recesses of the Lorian swamp. Accommodation: Ashnil Samburu Camp
After breakfast in the morning you will proceed north, driving through lush tea and coffee estates to Sweetwaters’ tented camp. Sweetwaters’ land, the Ol Pejeta Conservancy with its huge ranch, was once the private property of the famed Saudi Arabian multi-millionaire Adnan Kashoggi. You will arrive in time for lunch. After lunch we will visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming haven established by the Jane Goodall Institute to provide sanctuary to orphaned chimps. It is also a refuge to over 40 black rhinos. Sweetwaters boasts an excellent game viewing experience with the highest wildlife density in Kenya. Accommodation: Sweetwaters Serena Camp
After breakfast you will make your way to the Aberdare Country Club (arriving in time for lunch). The country club is located on the slopes of the Mweiga Hill and is just 190km from Nairobi. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the Ark Tree Lodge in the park (17km away). Aberdare National Park features lion, leopard, African elephant, African hunting dog, giant forest hog, bushbuck, mountain reedbuck, waterbuck, cape buffalo, suni, side-striped jackal, eland, duikers olive baboon, black and white colobus monkey, and sykes monkey. Rarer sightings include those of the golden cat and the bongo - an elusive forest antelope that lives in the bamboo forest. Accommodation: The Ark
After breakfast you will drive to Lake Nakuru, arriving at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge in time for lunch. After eating and relaxing you will head out on an afternoon game drive to see the famous lake and its prolific birdlife, including flamingoes. The park contains a sanctuary for the conservation of the white and black rhino. Accommodation: Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge
After breakfast you will drive to Lake Naivasha. You will arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. After lunch you will have time to walk around and also enjoy a boat ride. After your boat ride you will return to the lodge for dinner. Rest up so you can be ready for tomorrow activities! Accommodation: Lake Naivasha Country Club
After breakfast you will check-out and drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve. The Mara takes its name from the word for “spotted plains” in the Maa language. This reserve is home to the greatest concentration of large mammals in Africa and is widely renowned as a prized wildlife location. The Mara sits at the northern edge of the vast Serengeti-Mara ecosystem, which is famous for its annual migration of wildebeest. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and then depart on an afternoon game drive until sunset. This spectacular place of breathtaking sceneries, never-ending plains, and the most abundant wildlife variety left anywhere in the world will take your breath away. The landscape is made up of rolling savannahs dotted with patchy shrubs and bush thickets. Accommodation: Sarova Mara Game Camp
After breakfast you will spend the rest of the day on morning and afternoon game drives. The gentle grasslands here ensure that animals are never far out of sight. Birds, including transient species, are also prolific. 450 bird species have been recorded here (including 57 birds of prey). Every year the Mara plays host to the world’s greatest natural spectacle: The Great Wildebeest Migration from the Serengeti. The big cats - lion, leopard, and cheetah - follow close behind. The Mara at this time is literally packed with wildlife, providing lucky visitors on safari with superb wildlife sightings. Accommodation: Sarova Mara Game Camp
